Weight Training And Pilates

pilates1If you have ever have been to a gym, then I am certain that you see those weight lifters that go hard and have a great body to go with it. What you don’t see is that 10-15 years down the road, if you only do heavy weight lifting, there is a strong chance that you are going to completely wreck your joints, and have strained muscles.

This is why you need Pilates to counterbalance the stress that you put on your body when you only focus on weight lifting and training.

As a Fitness expert for over 20 years I have seen every different type of body, and have found that Pilates helps every one of those different body types. There are absolute facts that we know about Pilates, and these are a few of them:

1.  Pilates strengthens your core, strengthens your body as a whole, and absolutely helps with reduced back pain. Aside from giving your body strength, it helps align your body properly.

2.  Pilates gives you long lean muscles, and flexibility. When you only use weights you are more prone to injury, as well as tightening those muscles. Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A balanced body is less likely to be injured.

3.  Pilates helps with your mental health. Pilates urges you to focus on your breath, your body, proper movement, and how to connect your mind and your body. When you are in a focused state doing these exercise, your problems melt away for an hour or two.

These are a few of the important reasons that you should mix Pilates into every workout, you won’t regret it!
